Volunteer

HIV/HCV Resiurce Center (ACoRN)was created by volunteers. Today, we seek the volunteer who is willing to unselfishly provide strength and support for our organization.

HIV/HCV Resource Center would like to create a strong volunteer base to help provide a smooth running and efficient office setting. We look for individuals who are self starters and pride themselves on being able to work with the staff. We also strive to find individuals that have unique talents that can add creativity and "spice" to the agency. We would love to hear your ideas about how to enhance the lives of our clients and the quality of our agency!

Various areas needing volunteer support:

Working in the office: Answering phones, greeting visitors, putting together HIV/HCV Resource Center mailings, and other general office duties.

Drivers: Providing transportation for clients to doctor appointments, shopping, and support groups. HIV/HCV Resource Center reimburses drivers at a rate of $.39 per mile.

Being a "Buddy": Working one on one with a client by visiting him/her, providing transportation to doctors' appointments, helping with errands, etc. What an HIV+ "buddy" usually wants most is companionship and a friend to help out.

Other activities include involvement in our educational outreach programs, fundraising activities, and specific creative projects.
